The primary mission of the Center for International Affairs is to internationalize the California State University Channel Islands educational experience. Thus the committee supports the University mission to “graduate students with multicultural and international perspectives.” The Center for International Affairs promotes and supports efforts to internationalize the curriculum, afford students the opportunity to study abroad short term, support international faculty collaboration, and foster links with higher educational institutions around the world.

The Committee on Centers and Institutes, on behalf of the Center for International Affairs, submited Senate Policy 24-18 to change the name of the center to The Center for Global Engagement. The policy passed in Academic Senate and is awaiting the approval of the University President, Dr. R Yao.
CIA Statement of Support
for the People of Ukraine
The Center for International Affairs (CIA) at California State University Channel Islands stands in solidarity with Ukraine and the people of Ukraine. Since Feb 24th, Ukraine has been the target of an unprovoked and unjustifiable invasion.
The members of the CIA are concerned about the devastating loss of life as well as the tremendous suffering and harm done to innocent civilians. We applaud and embrace the Ukrainian people who are exceptionally resilient and courageously defending their nation and values.
CIA is calling for an immediate end to this invasion and the atrocities that have followed. Together we stand in unity to support the people of Ukraine and members of our CSUCI community who are affected by the war. The Ukrainian people are in our hearts and on our minds.
