The Center for Community Engagement (CCE) is part of a CSU system-wide community engagement initiative and one of CSU Channel Island's Four Mission Based Centers. The Center leads academic and co-curricular initiatives that build a culture of service, activism and social responsibility. We actualize this work through service learning, volunteerism, and community service programs that prepares students to be socially responsible and civically engaged.
The CCE offers innovative programs and initiatives, funding, training, and professional development that:
- creates opportunities for students to engage in service through education, leadership development, and meaningful community engagement experiences.
- supports faculty and academic program efforts to connect service experiences to coursework, research and programs.
- connects community organizations with faculty and academic programs who are invested in long-term, reciprocal partnerships for the benefit of student learning and community impact.
