In honor of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, CSU Channel Islands will hold its eighth annual “Light It Up Blue” autism awareness event from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in front of the John Spoor Broome Library. The library, mall and Bell Tower will be lit up blue for the event.
This is a community event and all ages are welcome to attend.
“Light It Up Blue” is a global initiative to celebrate United Nations World Autism Awareness Day. On April 2 the international goal is to shine a blue light on communities throughout the world to raise awareness and take action for autism.
The event will also provide a community resource fair, speeches by students and parents living with autism. The resource fair will involve groups offering support services from the campus and community, including the Autism Society of Ventura County, regional service providers, and CSUCI’s Disability Accommodations and Support Services.

We are currently accepting registration for non-profit, community and vendors who provide resources and services to individuals with autism and their families. There is no cost to vendors to participate. Use our Vendor Sign Up Form to register to exhibit in our resource fair

Parking
- Limited parking is available on campus with the purchase of a $6 daily permit; follow signs to the parking permit dispensers. There are a limited number of complimentary parking passes available to the general public. Please email accommodations@csuci.edu for more information.
- Parking will be available in the A3 and A1 parking lots. There will be continuous shuttle service from the A3 parking lot.
- Free parking is available at the Camarillo Metrolink Station/Lewis Road with bus service to and from the campus. Riders should board the CSUCI Vista Bus to the campus; the cash-only fare is $1.25 each way. Buses arrive and depart from the Camarillo Metrolink Station every 30 minutes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. For exact times, check the schedule at www.goventura.org.
Vendor Arrival Information
All vendors should arrive at the CSUCI Broome Library by 6:00 pm to set up your tables. Vendors should pull into parking lot A1 to drop off their materials, and then move their vehicles to Each vendor will receive a 6 foot table with 2 chairs. Vendor should bring table covering, brochures or any other giveaways.
